Paintings on Paper
The “Paintings on Paper Series” is an exploration and experimentation of ideas working on a smaller scale. Most pieces are 20x20 oil on gessoed paper. The series explores visited natural environments. I am using a quicker gestural use of paint and color. Some of the paintings were started in the lockdown phase of the pandemic as an escape to a different place. I have continued the works on paper to allow for experimentation and a place to explore different ideas. I have been interested in the calligraphic line and expression of movement and sense of energy. In these smaller works there is a joy and sense of happiness expressed in the paintings.
